June 2020
We are almost at the end of this school year- a year that none of us will easily forget!
Our lives are very different but we can still thank God for the things that he have given us.
Here is an easy way say a prayer of thanks to God, especially with the younger children in your home.

A Special Day of Prayer and Kindness
Pope Francis has asked that we mark Thursday 14th May 2020 in a very special way.
He, along with other religious leaders, has asked that we pray, fast and do charitable works to help end coronavirus.
In Holy Child Primary School, we would ask that we participate by saying a prayer together and carrying out acts of kindness at home.
You could say the “Five Finger Prayer” that Mrs Deery spoke about in her message to us all after Easter.
We would ask that you also say a special prayer this week for the Primary 4 children and their families. The children were due to celebrate their First Holy Communion on Saturday 16th May 2020.
May God keep us safe and look after us all. Amen
In the month of May we think of Mary
During the month of May we think of Mary. We ask you to say the Hail Mary or even a decade of the Rosary with your children every day, or evening. You could help your child/ children to make their own May Altar, where they could focus on Mary and pray to her.
To make a May Altar at home you could use a picture of Mary or a small statue of Mary, a candle, a set of Rosary beads and some flowers.
I have included some ideas on this page to help you to make your own special may Altar at home.

Ave Maria (As I Kneel Before You)
As I kneel before you,
As I bow my head in prayer,
Take this day, make it yours
And fill me with your love.
Ave Maria,
Gratia plena,
Dominus tecum,
Benedicta tu.
All I have I give you,
Every dream and wish are yours,
Mother of Christ,
Mother of mine, present them to my Lord.
Ave Maria,
Gratia plena,
Dominus tecum,
Benedicta tu.
As I kneel…
