The Celts
Although there is a vast difference in time and distance the topic of the Celts has many similarities that can be drawn from the Stone Age and Ancient Egyptian topics already studied this year.
The pupils have enjoyed learning about the Roundhouses that were built at the time. The children were able to make their own version virtually on the internet. They are able to discuss how their home was used and what would have been included inside and out.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed learning about the ranks within society, especially about some of the famous warriors such as Setanta who later became CuChulainn.
The arts and crafts at the time have proven a great hit with the children. They all have enjoyed creating and designing their own patterned armour, designs and torc jewellery.
