All the pupils always look forward to this topic in Primary 5.
The children love to investigate varied aspects of life in Ancient Egypt.
They enjoy using a map and an atlas to find the location of Egypt in relation to other countries, seas and continents. This learning is also consolidated by their Religious work studying the life of Moses from the Old Testament in the Bible. Their knowledge of Egypt and its surrounding neighbours becomes more relevant when learning about Moses crossing the Red Sea in the story of the Exodus.
The pupils are now able to identify and talk about a variety of Egyptian gods and goddesses. They are able to discuss what they looked like and about their different animal characteristics?
The Mummification process- always a favourite part of this topic. Just ask about how the brain was removed!!! There,s even a song about it!
