READING!
The children understand how important it is to read. Reading is a lifelong skill that improves memory, builds vocabulary and a foundation of knowledge and deepens comprehension. Time is set aside each day in class for personal reading and they visit our library to read and select a new book to read once a week.
World Mental Health Day 2024
In Holy Child we celebrate World Mental Health Day every year on the 10th October. We take time to talk about mental health and show everyone mental health matters. The children know talking about mental health can help them cope better with life's ups and downs.
New Testament Cube Activity
As part of our Religion programme, we are looking at the New Testament in the Bible. The children were given a copy of a cube template and asked to write the title 'The New Testament' in the top square. They were then asked to to write one of the following titles in the next four squares: Gospels; Acts of the Apostles; Letters and Book of Revelation. They were then asked to write the name 'Jesus' in the bottom square. The children enjoyed the cross-curricular activity and their finished product was impressive!
