Reading Advice from BELB Literacy Co-Ordinator

Holy Child's Parent's Group were delighted to be joined on Wednesday 15th March 2017, by Vanessa Goucher, BELB Literacy Co-Ordinator. This visit was arranged through the extended schools programme. Our parents enjoy a packed programme, which includes regular educational trips, school workshops and visitors, providing Holy Child parents with a very inclusive programme to support their children's education.

"We need to stop reading being seen as something children just do in school and put it back into competition with computers, video games, films and DVDs as a fun way to spend free time. Seeing reading as something that happens at home and is shared by everyone in the family is key."
