Principal's Welcome

A Warm Welcome to Holy Child Primary School

Dear Parents and Children,

Thank you for taking the time to explore our website — we’re delighted to share a glimpse of the vibrant, caring and ambitious community that is Holy Child Primary School, Belfast.

For more than 60 years, Holy Child has stood at the heart of the St. Agnes’ parish, growing from its strong Catholic foundations into a school widely recognised for its nurturing environment and exceptional educational standards. Our long-standing reputation is built on one clear promise: every child who walks through our doors will be supported, challenged and cherished.

A School Where Every Child Flourishes

Above all, we believe that children learn best when they feel happy, safe and valued. These core principles shape daily life at Holy Child, creating the secure foundation our pupils need to thrive academically, spiritually and socially. Our school motto — “Sharing, Caring and Learning” — reflects exactly who we are.

Sharing

We help our pupils grow as confident individuals grounded in respect, kindness and spiritual wellbeing. Through strong links with our parish and close partnerships with local secondary and grammar schools, children learn to appreciate their community and understand their place in the wider world.

Caring

Pastoral care is at the heart of our mission. We are committed to supporting each child’s moral, social, spiritual and physical development. Holy Child is a place where children feel special, supported and proud to be themselves.

Learning

Our dedicated staff provide high-quality teaching that encourages curiosity, independence and a lifelong love of learning. From the earliest years onwards, pupils benefit from a wide range of enriching opportunities that prepare them to excel not just in primary school, but well into their futures.

We are proud of the strong relationships that exist between pupils, staff and parents. These partnerships — built on trust, communication and shared values — are central to the warm, child?centred ethos that defines Holy Child.

We’d Love You to Visit

Although this website offers a window into our school, nothing compares to experiencing the happy, supportive and vibrant atmosphere in person. I warmly invite all prospective parents and pupils to arrange a visit. My staff and I are always happy to discuss any aspect of your child’s development or answer questions about life at Holy Child.

We look forward to welcoming you into our school family.
